Acceptance
By downloading, installing or using Quint, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app. No account or click-through agreement is needed beyond this page.
License
Quint is provided free of charge and supported by optional tips. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on Macs you own or control. You may not resell it, redistribute it as your own, or remove or alter its branding.
No warranty
Quint is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. Use of the app is entirely at your own risk. We do not guarantee that Quint will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or compatible with every Mac, display, macOS version or other app, including future updates to macOS that may change how it behaves.
Commands and scripts
Quint can run Terminal commands and AppleScripts, which can do anything you can do on your Mac, including changing or deleting files. You are responsible for any command or script you write, paste or import, and for reading what a shared quintlet runs before you switch it on. Only open quintlet files from people you trust. Ready-made snippets only read information, but we cannot guarantee any third-party script.
Limitation of liability and assumption of risk
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hit the Deck Software and the developers of Quint are not responsible or liable for any damage to your Mac or other systems, loss or corruption of data, loss of profits or business, interruption of service, or any other direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app or this website, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. You are responsible for backing up anything important on your Mac. If the law where you live does not allow some of these limits, they apply only as far as the law permits.
Information shown is not advice
Quintlets display information from third-party sources that we do not control, including weather and radar, alerts, earthquakes, tides, aircraft positions, stock quotes, news and sports scores. It may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate or unavailable. Nothing in Quint is financial, investment, legal, medical, safety or navigation advice. Do not rely on it for emergencies, severe-weather or other safety decisions, navigation, aviation, or trading. Always check the official source.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for complying with the terms of the services and publishers whose content you choose to display, and for the permissions you grant to Quint in macOS.
Tips
Quint is free to use in full. Tips made through Buy Me a Coffee are voluntary and non-refundable, and do not create any support contract, service-level agreement or ownership stake in the software.
Third-party trademarks
Apple, Mac, macOS, GeekTool, NOAA, NASA, Wikipedia and all other names and marks mentioned are trademarks of their respective owners. Quint is an independent product, an homage to the idea of GeekTool, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them.
Changes and termination
We may change, discontinue or stop supporting Quint at any time, for any reason, without notice. It is maintained on a best-effort basis. We may update these terms from time to time, and continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised terms.
